Contributor Series 10: Silken Rags
Gliding Princess
By Laura Zucca-Scott

You were gliding
Dancing gracefully
Sparkling eyes
A princess in disguise
At Cinderella's ball
Every girl's dream
Or so they say

The rhythm changed
But not the glow
Daring and bold
In youthful bliss
The lights were shining
Burning slowly
In that winter night

Before the fire consumed it all

Now the dream continues
In your daughter's gaze
Remote, yet stronger than ever

Laura Zucca-Scott's most recent poem to appear here was Furiously listening, published as part of Contributor Series: If Men Had Ears.
