Woeful Are the Clumsy Who Chase Inspiration

There they go again
another flit of words
faint sounds teasing

my mind
reaching
quick
making a 
grab
stumbling
clownish

falling
forward
into darkness

and I am left
with the lightest laughter
gleeful
wispy
carried on fairy dust
drifting away
while the words
of some other
far more agile poet
rest solidly
in my lap.
