Pool Slide

Stan Galloway's most recent poem to appear here was Pin Dot (August 2011). His poem Gazers (a collaboration with Julie Ellinger Hunt) was one of vox poetica's 2011 nominations for Best of the Net.

Pool Slide

The slide reflected in the water,
like Monet on Van Gogh,
reminds that
what we see
and what is real
and what we think we see
and what we think is real
all differ in
ripply,
shimmery ways
almost alike
but some
as false as water,
others hard as steel.
