A Treat?
Monica Crumback's most recent poem to appear here was Talent Show, published as part of Contributor Series 9: If Men Had Ears. Don't you think this poem aptly describes cats in general (and maybe your cat in particular)?
A Treat?

You're right, of course.
You've earned it.
While I've been gone,
out chasing my pay,
you've dutifully sat
in beams of sun
so gently on the mat
on the oak
beneath the rug.
You leave no mark,
my mewing Gandhi,
my mincing Prince of Peace.
So take, eat. Be. Just stay
and let the rest of us work
to spend our days.

That was a great poem about Jesse!!!!!!
I liked how you called him Gandhi!

Ah yes -- feline exceptionalism (the only acceptable "-ism" ever!) Brilliant as usual!

Ah, to be a cat. It certainly seems they live the life of Riley. Jesse now has a little claim to fame also. Nice piece.

I find my own cats sense of entitlement to be so endearing, yet when people have it it's the complete opposite.
Great one, loved it!
