Babatunde Lamidi is 22 years old. He is a writer, teacher, and computer engineer in Nigeria, where he is also pursuing coursework at the University of Ilorin. He was introduced to poetry by his teacher Jekwu Anyaegbuna (Crystal Voice, Contributor Series 9: If Men Had Ears). This is Babatunde's first published poem.
A Sick Heart By Babatunde Lamidi Breathtaken is how I felt any time you graced me with your presence. My entire world revolved around you. Like a battery to a phone, without you I can't function, without you I can't breathe, without you I can't be me. Your love is poison to my soul, but your absences is more deadly. We used to stare deep into the sun but now I stare deep into nothing as the wind blows away your remains.
Superb! Strong and poignant.
