Contributor Series 9: If Men Had Ears, In my head

Contributor Series 9: If Men Had Ears
In my head
By KC Bosch

Working alone it is rarely quiet.
Constant dialogue in my head
processing issues
of life or love. Arguing politics,
one side only.
Repeating a phrase until it's just
right or mush from the repetition.
A verse of a song.
Curtis Lowe, Curtis Lowe ...
Odd names that stick sounding again and again.
Details about this shed, how will it look,
do I have enough 2x8s?
People said he was useless, people all were fools ...
Will they like it? Will it last?
Look how some guy built this,
what was he thinking? Is he still alive?
Come on buddy, you knew better ...
What will the next guy who opens my
work think? I will tag it, but not until
it's ready to seal up.
cause Curtis Lowe was the finest picker to ever play the blues ...
I'm done here
and think Griffin Tavern will
be a nice end to this day.
I need a new song.

KC Bosch's most recent poem to appear here was Pinecrest (June 2011).

Hi, KC: It was so nice meeting you last month. It's incredible that it took
Annmarie to get us together and we live so close.
I can relate to this poem. Constant thoughts, and who knows where they come from. Ending the day at the tavern sounds good!
