Caitlin Riggsbee is usually the one behind the camera making the movie, but she also likes to write the words. She is 16 and this is her first published poem. Her good friend Gianluca D'Elia has a poem up at the words to linger on page today too. They both follow 15-year-old Julia Pistole in a week that will also bring us poetry by Charlotte Rauner. It's good to see what our fearless and talented young people are creating!
The Veils of God

Yes.
I heard your question loud and clear.
As we sat in the Dandelion hillside.
You rocked back and forth, fetal position
as I stroked my hair, pondering.
Your question confused and frightened me
And we sat there for quite a while.
I didn't want to say
"No."
But,
I didn't want to say
"Yes."
So we sat there in silence staring up at the clouds
hanging low in the sky;
so low, I reached out to touch one
But
it was just out of reach.
So
after the hours of silence
I turned to you and said
"Yes.
If you get me a cloud."
And,
so,
you did.
A lovely poem. This woman has not lost touch with the magical emotions of imagination and fantasy. A great combination.
