Hints of Spring

Harris Tobias' poem The Grill appeared here as part of Contributor Series 8: Feast and Famine in March. He thinks spring may finally be upon us. My allergies say he's right. What season is it where you are?

Hints of Spring
By Harris Tobias

I saw some hints of spring outside my door
But I was wary, I'd been fooled before
The forsythia was yellow but still
So was the foolish daffodil
And that magic hocus pocus
With the crocus was so bogus
I've learned to trust the fruit trees
More and more
