Cremated Cooking Pot
By Jekwu Anyaegbuna

The cooking pot spilled,
spat over the fire,

and the food
lost its memory
and credibility.

The fire wrapped the cooker
in burning blessings.

The vegetables
shed their green
uniforms.

The pot got cremated
with its pregnancy.

Jekwu Anyaegbuna's most recent poem to appear at vox poetica was Delete, Deleting, Deleted, published in January 2011 as seventh runner-up in the First-Ever vox poetica Poetry Contest.
