Continuum

Kathryn Tate Jacoby's poem Life's Regatta was posted here in July. Kathryn writes about weathering storms and resurfacing even stronger. Here she emphasizes the concept of balance as it relates to resilience.

Continuum
By Kathryn Tate Jacoby

Among the cold, gray towers
the seagulls cry their raucous song
and the day grows long in shadow—
sorrow's mournful dirge rising
in the snowy sky.

But, loss is only an illusion ...

 ... for with every ending,
there is another beginning—
an energy exchanged between
that which ends on one plane and
the inception of life anew on another.

Do not grieve,
for all is a continuum
of which we are all a part.

Listen to the symphony of life everlasting,
and know that they go on ...

 ... within you,

 ... within the Creator,

 ... within the created,

Unending ...
