Contributor Series 7: The Confessional Diary of Bone
Resurrection
By Joanna S Lee

I dig myself into the hollows
of your cheeks, brush the grit from lashes
tangling your two eyes into glossy caverns
with ripples troubling just behind the iris; tokens
of a time that will wash clean the maleficence from
memory like a summer storm
over chalked sidewalks, streaks of milky-
white might-have-beens turned to dust
by the side of the road, pounded
into a new rhythm of hips and drums and
awakening chaos in cold bones, rattling the rib
cage of this beating heart.

Joanna's poetry has appeared at vox poetica's prompts page.
