Scatter-brain

Ivan Jenson gave us Out There in November. This poem is, in keeping with Ivan's style, witty and exploratory.

Scatter-brain
By Ivan Jenson

I have
never
seen
an alley
cat
turn into
a bird
so that
it might
fly on
home
but then
again
I chase
your little
tornado
moods
and run
after
your childish
ways
enough
about you
I am falling
in my dreams
and stumbling
through life
yet you
follow my
train of
thoughtlessness
just
because
I'm like your
little
rescue dog
forever
hungry
and grateful
to have
been saved
