Orlando Rey's poem reads like a wake-up call, doesn't it?
It's Time
By Orlando Rey
If remnants of the past
Bring a familiar rumble
Of hidden scripts and causes
Neither subscribe nor rewind ...
It's Time.
Sweet landscapes
Of mirrors and shadows
Ripple the waters
Of forgotten currents
That dwindled into desistance
With vestiges of trivial promises
Abandon the road ...
It's Time.
Seclude the appearance
Of the passing clouds
The storms of the past
Are not far down ...
Cease and desist
A prelude shall be sung
For a new horizon ...
It's Time.
Intricate relations abound
Casting shades of multiple tracks
Of emotions and old attachments
Shattering expectations
At the end of the chapter
Negate its existence
Close the book ...
It's Time.
Alter the game
No marked cards of presumptions
What was certain and predictable
Did not survive the test
Of the healing time
Turn the page ...
It's Time.
Invisible gates of fortuities
Plague the fields of memories
And not a trace of wisdom pervades
In opening chapters that were long closed
The time of occlusion
Has arrived ... extend sails ...
It's Time.
Bewilder not!
Of unexpected crumbling of castles
Contemplate destitution as a given
And gather the thoughts at dusk
Chisel ... the soul of a new dawn
And emerge ...
From the winds of despair
Accept the anguish
And search for your dreams ...
It's Time.
Live the seasons as they come
Blameless and wholesome
True to countless reasons
Accept the flow of life
The turns of tides ...
It's Time.
Brava!
