She said yes
He said no
Then a maybe
would soon
echo

I love you so
Well I love you
Then what's
the problem
with "I do"

I'm not sure
Well neither 
am I
So that ended
it all
She did not reply

Silence is a word
that everyone can 
hear

It never finds a voice
but its message is so
clear

Mildred Speidel's poetry has appeared at the prompts page of vox poetica in 2010 and will appear at the today's words page in the fall of 2010.
