Far & Away
By Helen Losse
I see a tall man in moonlit shadows—
far & away.

Working late in his vineyard,
he will plant small vines
and watch them grow.

I marvel when I see Tom work
in the dark, sometimes
through lightning and rain.

He gathers his ripe red grapes, 
mashes them to wine.

O, fruit of the sweet, red dirt.
