I woke last night on the living room floor
confused about the moon and the orientation of windows

uncertain even of my right hand and left
and if my dog were a god.

Would Borges have known
if he were the same man from day to day?


Ray Sharp's poetry has appeared at vox poetica in 2009 and 2010. His most recent poem, Our Volition Was in Not Turning, appeared in February 2010; his poem Threnody for the Survivors of September 11, 2001 was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2009.
