Honorable
Jane Audrey ponders a difficult question and in so doing brings the balance between head and heart into focus. She asks us to consider the cost of doing right by one standard at the expense of another.

Honorable.
He does what is expected.
What is defined.
Giving,
to others without reservation.
Withholding from me.
Trying.
He fails with honor.
Failure is inevitable.
Honorable.
Do I donate my self worth
leaving but an empty vessel
hidden in a martyr's cloak?
Should the blame be mine
or do I suffer a greater loss
to reward my own soul?
When there is no right and no wrong,
there is no peace in deciding.

Moving, profound and so beautifully sad.
