Erosion
By Karen Schindler

He listens to me until
I'm sleepy
Smiles at me when
I yawn like a kitten
long distance
down the phone
Tells me well, I should
let you get some rest
Then there's
that long loud silence
just dripping with the
things we left unsaid.
