Contemplation

Clyde Borg lives and writes in Fords NJ. He is a retired educator who has been writing nonfiction and poetry for a dozen years. His poem Thinking appeared here in 2009. This poem is every bit as spare and unflinching as the first and raises a universal question many of us would rather not consider.

Contemplation
By Clyde Borg

There must be a place upon death
Where the spirit thrives:
Roaming, cavorting, frolicking.
Or is there only blackness?
An unending dreamless sleep
Lying within some dark realm.
