Away to Fly

Dillon Wackerman is a student of classical languages, a translator, and a painter. This light lyric is meant to inspire and to reassure. It is the voice of the parent in all species, but also the teacher, the mentor, the elder, encouraging the young to forge new paths and soar to new heights. It's the progression imperative.

Away to Fly
By Dillon Wackerman

Little Bird fly,
And leave the known
Behind your sight.
Embrace the flight!
Never back home,
Nor to ask why.
Released from fright—
Ever to be—
With only a care
For what is there.
Can you not see?
In forward sight:
As light as air
Is what is there.
