Distracted
R. Martin Basden, of Norfolk VA, spoke to us recently about his fickle muse (Interruption).
Here he writes about a very different type of inspiration, a point of
contact in the most unexpected of moments. It's impossible to read this
and not feel the tickle on your own hand and the smile spreading across
your own face and the wonder of the natural world that grounds us.
Distracted

A moth landed on his hand
and in that moment
autism's veil fluttered
Distant eyes focused
tiny feet tickled
soft wings pulsed
Until he smiled

Oh, Marty. How much you say in so few words; It takes my breath away.
