Majestic

If you find yourself in Englewood, NJ, and you stand in the middle of the Flat Rock Nature Preserve, one of the last vestiges of the Palisades Forest, you will see trees that seem to stretch up as tall as the mountains themselves. It is impossible to look at those tall trees and not feel overpowered by their tenacity and beauty. Eve Hall's poetry can be found here (Still) and at her web site. Read this haiku of hers and imagine yourself in the forest. It's a great place to find a poem (or maybe to have it find you).

The tree's tall branches,
remind us just how little
we really are here.
