John Sherer is a senior majoring in economics at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. He admits to a fondness for numbers and is considering pursuing another course of study after graduation. John also admits to a certain sense of rebellion toward the systematic nature of formal education and attributes his passion for writing to an attempt at revolution. In his own words, "I write because it's fun; however, the best communication is personal, beyond the realm of language." His debut poem here is a description of an occurrence that is universal (and often pretty personal) for those of us familiar with North American autumns.

By John Sherer

Is there a reason
Squirrels dart
In front of a car
Like a driver does
Cut off a car
When besides that car
All else is clear?
