that I was never meant for mute.
My voice was meant to fly,
my words were meant to sing,
and I was meant to be
the stream of consciousness
that moves the story
from beginning to end
and bends its babble
through all the twists and turns
along the way.

Wow. This is so true. Of course your many voices are so important.

"I was meant to be the stream of conscienceness that moves the story..." sounds like a river, even as it flows into "bends and babbles..."
I love the sound as much of the meaning of your poem, Annemarie.
