reserving judgment

Danielle Cross is a writer of lovely and lyrical poetry. She writes her blog, me, in·com·plete, under the nom de plume Calliopespen (the story of which in itself is a great read!). This poem is a study in simplicity, definitive and succinct. Note the stripped-down bareness of the words without dress of punctuation and the tone, flat with abandoned emotion. Pay attention to the last line. What do you think of the emphasis (she really means it, right?) paired with no closing punctuation (if she really meant it,wouldn't she have slammed the door shut with an exclamation point or, at the very least, pushed the door closed softly, like a proper lady who still means no, with a period?). Enjoy this and then click on the link to read more of her work.

reserving judgment
By Danielle Cross

I wrote this poem
with you in mind
and realized I have
nothing to say
there is no reason to write
it ends here
