Double Haiku, for Val
An editorial calendar is a very useful thing. It does, after all, lend purpose and shape to a publication. Here at vox poetica the editorial calendar is a loosely structured affair, and postings reflect more the spirit than the letter of the law as it were. Case in point: this post. Originally planned for this day's post was a very different poem, but news of a bad day made its way to these offices and there went the plan.
This poem is technically not a haiku, as it has two verses. We shall christen it a double haiku.
Double Haiku, for Val
(dedicated to the memory of David James Marks)
By Annmarie Lockhart
What music moves you
When memory serves up mourning
Of your song man Dave?
What words span the space
Between? Let memory serve up
Black-clad, life-scored love.
