Cinquain I

Similar to haiku, laddered cinquains provide a nice structure for a simple poem. This cinquain uses a syllable count of 2-4-6-8-2. This form is sometimes referred to as an American cinquain.

Cinquain I

Three spilled blood drops
Splash the bone tablecloth.
The remains of last night’s dinner
