Graduation Photo, Eighth Grade

Haiku is a great form for capturing a simple image. Don't shy away from layered imagery, just be sure to focus on the central object and pay close attention to word choice. The tight syllable count in haiku (5-7-5) means every word matters. So be selective and precise.

Cap and gown, both white;
Stole blue, smile bright, friends hugged tight;
Eyes wide and teary.
