School Days
School Days
By Annmarie Lockhart
School ends but the lessons continue.
Learn to take what we need and share the rest
(No, I’m not talking about food; I mean bread and fishes and water and wine);
To listen to your voice and not to listen for it;
To never stop feeling the whole-body shiver bumped up against you in a roomful of people;
To gorge on the moment and starve on the future;
To thrive on the knowledge that what was still is, our eternal truth, immutable connection.
And the rest is just background noise.

Breathtakingly true when you belong to a unit of two in your heart and soul. Wonderful verse annmarie.
