vox poetica Inaugural Poem: The Invitation

For this, the inaugural posting of today's words on vox poetica, I give you a simple, unruled cinquain. It is a short jumble of words, reveling in their own combined sound, expressing their elemental joy in just being here. Take this invitation as it's intended, and let the dialogue of poetry begin!

Invitation
By Annmarie Lockhart

If a poem is always a love song,
Emotion spoke soul to soul,
If it’s born of the heart, then let this one start
A mad outpouring, melodic adoring,
Lovesong sing-in led by you and I.
